Information to Parents

Children spend a large part of their time at school and it is therefore important that you are aware of our expectations of you as partners in the education process. All staff at Hillerød Municipality’s Schools is committed to providing top-quality learning opportunities, both within and beyond taught lessons. Pupils are expected to participate actively in learning throughout the school day, at out-of-hours learning sessions.We all share the responsibility for creating a society that is able to accommodate differences with mutual respect and acceptance.

 

Aims

We have a number of aims which we believe are at the heart of pupils’ achievement. In partnership with parents we aim to:

• develop all pupils as individuals, emotionally, spiritually and culturally
• give them opportunities to reach their potential – socially, morally and academically
• provide them with an education which prepares them fully for a complex world beyond school – with the essential skills, attitudes and knowledge to become successful and fulfilled 21st century citizens.

School Attendance

We expect students to aim for 100% attendance because successful learning cannot take place unless a student consistently attends lessons. Holidays in term time are not authorised. Education is mandatory from 1^st (for 6-7 years old children) through 9^th grade. Kindergarten and 10^th grade are optional.

• Brødeskov Skole has 425 pupils from Kindergarten to 9^th grade.
• Frederiksborg Byskole has 760 pupils from Kindergarten to 9^th grade.
• Hillerødsholmskolen has 900 pupils from Kindergarten to 9^th grade.

Child-care Option (SFO)
SFO is a child-care option for children who are in the junior classes at school (Kindergarten – 3^rd grad), where they safely and securely can participate in various spare-time activities. There is a charge for this service.
